Conferences for adults on the Integral Development Course are also offered. Through these conferences, the participants have the opportunity to acquire both a new vision of the world of sound and a new appreciation of musical pieces.
The chief objectives of these conferences are:
- to raise awareness in each participant of the musical world and its close relationship with nature
- to learn to listen fully and integrally to musical pieces
- to acquire a holistic vision of music itself and its task of transforming the internal world of the human being
Each conference covers different theme. The themes discussed in the conferences are:
SOUND: A FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENT OF HUMAN NATURE
In this conference, participants begin to develop a new consciousness of the world of sound. This consciousness is based on the methodology of the Integral Development Course, which views sound and music as elements of Nature.
COLOURS: THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WORLD OF SOUND
In this conference, the essence of different colours and their relationship to sound is discussed. Participants take part in specific movement exercises to help them to internalize the sonic dimensions of colours, and to be able to interpret colours on a musical or percussion instrument naturally and spontaneously. The music colour relationship, examined in this conference, is fundamental to this methodology.
RHYTHM: IT’S RELATIONSHIP TO NATURE AND HUMAN BEING
In this conference, the importance of rhythm as a means of uniting human beings with Nature and rhythm’s function in the internal world of human being are discussed. The importance of rhythm in the development of the young student is also addressed.
THE TEMPERAMENTS: THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH MAN AND MUSIC
In this conference, the importance of the relationship between the four temperaments and the world of sound is addressed. The reasons why certain music is more appropriate for certain students is also discussed. Participants also take part in an analysis of the temperaments of different musical pieces.
A NEW MUSICAL METHODOLOGY: THE TRUE MISSION OF MUSIC IN THE HUMAN BEING
In this conference, the basis of the methodology of the Integral Development Course is discussed. The issues addressed in previous conferences are brought together to focus on how they are applied to teaching students about music according to this methodology.
Each conference ends with the live performance of a musical piece on violin and recordings and a discussion of the piece in relation to the theme covered in the conference. In this way, participants can apply the ideas of the conferences to the appreciation of a specific musical piece.
