Paulina Derbez is the artistic director of the new mexican cultural platform in Toronto México Contemporáneo.
México Contemporáneo forms part of the Mexican Global Network, Toronto Chapter. This network is based in several countries around the world to promote the work of outstanding Mexicans abroad. The activities launched under this initiative therefore has considerable international potential, as for October 2016 we will present this platform in New York City with a mexican chamber concert organized by the Mexican Cultural Insitute.
Our main goals are:
- to promote Mexican 20th and 21st century artistic expression around the world;
- to open a forum for the dissemination of the work of academics related to the art and artists of Mexican origin in Canada.
The agenda of 2016 includes the outstanding artists Humberto López, Araceli Salazar and Jaime Luján. The events will take place 11th June and 5th November at the Windermere United Church concert series. Works from Alexis Aranda and Javier Torres Maldonado will be premiered in Canada.
